The Brief
Statesides serves burgers, wings, cheesesteak subs and fries over a takeaway hatch, in a crowded field where everyone sells the same handful of things. The food had to look like it was worth crossing town for.
The Idea
We made the menu move. One reel for the action in the kitchen, one for the builds, and one where the dishes slide in as panels and cards, like a menu that animates itself.
How We Made It
The action reel is fast and close: a patty pressed on the griddle, a burger cut in half, wings lifted from the fryer and glazed, a bite in extreme close-up, then a bag passed through the hatch under the Statesides menu. The build reel goes step by step on white paper: sauce on the roll, beef and onions on the flat-top, chicken floured and fried, fries piled onto a burger and finished with ketchup. For the third reel we cut the footage into stacked panels and picture-in-picture frames that slide on and off, ending on the full spread.
