The Brief
Ori Bar is a night venue: dark, red and gold, with live music, a metal sculpture of a saxophone player and a green marble bar. Night bars are hard to film, because the mood people come for is exactly what turns a dark room to mud on a phone screen.
The Idea
We kept the dark and let the drinks glow. The room stays low and moody, and the eye goes only where the light is: the glass, the smoke, the singer's face.
How We Made It
We shot the night as it happened, with a violinist in a red suit and a singer working the room, and guests caught between sips. At the bar the drinks are built in close-up: a layered cocktail finished with a slice of lime from the tweezers, smoke lifting off a whisky as the wooden lid comes up, a green pour glowing on the marble. Wide shots of the lounge, small lamps lit on rows of red tables, give the eye a rest between the close work.
