The Brief
Coah Lagos has a long menu, from skewers, lamb and salmon at dinner to waffles and pancakes at brunch. A long menu is hard to show in a few seconds, and a reel that tries to show all of it turns into a list.
The Idea
We split the menu by moment, not by course. One reel is about the finishing touch, sauce and citrus landing on the plate; one is sweet brunch; one is the dinner spread; one is savoury brunch. Each reel has one job, so none of them feels like a catalogue.
How We Made It
It is all on the table, with nothing in frame but the food and a hand. The sauce reel stays tight on the pour as it folds over salmon and runs down chicken skewers on a banana leaf. For brunch we lit icing sugar from behind so it falls like rain over pancakes, cream and berries. The spread reels move between overhead flat lays and a low angle with the room soft behind, so the same plates read as both a menu and a meal.
