The Brief
Chocos Bistro runs two menus side by side: breakfast plates like waffles, eggs and sliders, and Nigerian soups and rice served in white bowls. Then there is the bar. A venue with that much range can easily look like it does everything and nothing in particular.
The Idea
Two mash-ups, one for the kitchen and one for the bar, each cut so the variety reads as range instead of clutter. The kitchen reel runs from waffles to soup ladled into bowls; the bar reel runs from the shaker to the finished glass in front of a wall of white flowers.
How We Made It
The food was shot close on the kitchen counter as the chef plated, with a red ladle pouring soup into the bowl so you see the texture as it lands. The drinks were shot at the bar with the bartender in his Chocos tee: stirring, shaking, pouring from a jigger, fanning apple slices onto a hurricane glass. We alternate darker frames of the work with bright reveals by the flower wall, so the reel breathes between the making and the result.
