The Brief
A wedding is one day that has to be relived for years, and most of that reliving happens on a phone. Blessing and Rotimi's day had two outfits, quiet moments at home and a packed reception under a tent, and all of it had to live on a vertical screen without losing the feeling.
The Idea
We made two films with two jobs. The first is a portrait of the couple, built from close details and cut to a love song. The second hands the story to them: Rotimi speaks to Blessing in Yoruba, Blessing talks about him in English, and then the reception takes over.
How We Made It
Everything is framed for a vertical screen, so full-length portraits and two people side by side still sit comfortably in the frame. Film one opens looking up at a chandelier and moves through details (coral beads, a watch, joined hands, a feather fan) before it shows a face, then changes from the red-and-coral look to green and white. Film two starts on laughing close-ups while the couple speak, then moves into the tent for a speech, the dancing and the couple's table. Both are cut to the music and close on the BR monogram, credited in frame as edited by Vodee Studio with Cave-Adullam.
