The Brief
Bishop A.D. Clyburn had been chosen to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, and the news needed an announcement with the weight of the honour. A life of work as a father, son, teacher and pastor had to be told in under a minute, from photographs.
The Idea
We made it feel as if the awards night had already begun. Black and gold, gold bands across the top and bottom of every frame, soft bokeh and lens flares, and a red carpet waiting before the date is even said.
How We Made It
The film is built from his own photographs, from family portraits to moments in ministry, moved with slow push-ins and soft glows so the stills feel alive. A narrator carries the announcement while gold titles mark the beats: Special Announcement, Lifetime Achievement Award, the date of the evening. Cutaways to a red carpet, press photographers and a city skyline build the sense of occasion, and the film closes on the gala poster.
